Wat beginner tutorials als je nog niet bekend bent met linux. Vond deze wel erg duidelijk voor iemand die er nooit mee gewerkt heeft. En zijn makkelijk op te pakken.

To check official Arch Linux news in Konsole, use your AUR helper (such as yay or paru). Open your terminal and run:
yay -Pw (or paru -Pw)

1. Using Curl
If you prefer not to use an AUR helper, you can view the official site's RSS feed or raw HTML in Konsole using curl and less: [1]
curl -s https://archlinux.org/feeds/news/ | grep -oE '<title>[^<]+</title>' | sed 's/<title>//;s/<\/title>//' | head -n 10 [1]

2. Using an RSS Reader (Newsboat)
To get news alerts formatted neatly without manually checking:
  1. Install Newsboat: sudo pacman -S newsboat
  2. Add the Arch news feed to your URLs config: echo "https://archlinux.org/feeds/news/" >> ~/.config/newsboat/urls
  3. Run newsboat to browse headlines. [1, 2, 3]

3. Automatic Pre-update Checks
To ensure you never forget to check for news before upgrading your system, install the informant utility from the AUR:
  1. Install it: yay -S informant (or paru -S informant)
  2. Informant acts as a wrapper; running informant check will halt your update if there is unread breaking news.
